Description
A resounding success over five series between 1980 and 1983, this Thames Television comedy is set in the delightfully chaotic home of Dudley and Muriel Rush, whose daughters, Jacqui and Susan, satisfy a hankering for freedom by moving into the familyÆs vacant basement flat. Dudley is a gifted cartoonist but an inveterate procrastinator with a fondness for practical jokes, who finds it hard to concentrate amid an ever-increasing number of distractions.
All six episodes from the third series of the 1980s sitcom starring Robert Gillespie. Much to the annoyance of his agent, Duncan (Glyn Houston), comic strip illustrator and full-time practical joker Dudley (Gillespie) finds it hard to hit his deadlines on time. This is partly due to the necessity of keeping a close eye on his daughters, Jacqui (Jenny Quayle) and Susan (Stacy Dorning), who live in his basement, but, in truth, it doesn’t take much to distract dreamer Dudley from something as dull as work. The episodes comprise: ‘Splitting Headaches’, ‘The Judas Goat’, ‘A Game of No Chance’, ‘Matter Over Mind’, ‘A Matter of Principle’ and ‘The Inferior Decorator’.
