While exploring a cavern on a pot-holing trip in the Peak District, American exchange student Stanley Katz is separated from the rest of his group. After a sudden rockfall his companions fear he is trapped; the emergency services are called out and Rosie, a local junior reporter, is sent to cover the story of the missing pot-holer. However, Rosie’s story is about to become far more interesting: the rock fall has revealed a mysterious egg, and as Stanley re-appears unharmed it begins to wobble.
